Financial Control
Adeel's Story
“I was locked out of my own bank account.”
Adeel, 44, worked full-time, but his partner controlled every pound. Adeel was given an allowance for groceries. He could not open his own bank accounts without her inputs. If he questioned a purchase, she yelled, or threatened to withhold essentials.
“I was earning money, but I had no control. She said, 'If you leave, you get nothing.' — That terrified me.”
